| Engagement Story: |
Adam and I met on
a Christian dating web site in April of 2006 and after two months
of emails and phone calls we met in person in June. In July,
Adam and I began talking about becoming engaged. We even went
so far as to pick a date in August (along with a church, preacher
and reception hall). This was all before Adam had formally proposed
to me and given me a ring. So, I knew it was coming eventually.
The Thursday before Adam proposed he told me he had returned
the ring he had ordered because it was not exactly what he wanted.
We even prayed that night that he would find the right one, the
perfect one. That Saturday we went to the mall and looked at
several jewlery stores for rings. I figured at this point I still
had a ways to go before getting the "formal" proposal.
Boy was I wrong, that night we were at his parent's house and
we were playing a game with his brother and girlfriend while
we were waiting for dinner. Adam disappeared at some point to
go help his dad with something outside. A little while later
he was back inside and his dad came in shortly after and said
"I just chased the biggest snapper turtle, I've ever seen
and he was heading toward the pond. You should go out and see."
Adam looked at me and said "want to go out and see?"
and I said ok. So off we went hand in hand in the dark with a
flashlight. As we were walking away from the house after a minute
he stopped and flashed the light on a log where there was a little
red ring box sitting. Then in Christmas lights against the fence
was written "Terri will u marry me?" and then Adam
flashed the light one more time and his brother set off fireworks
over top of that. It was more than I ever would have expected!
All he could say was "did you see the question mark?"
Which of course I said "Yes, of course, Yes!" It was
an unforgettable night! |
