Born To Run Farm

Born to Run Farm is a family owned property located on the top of Schooley’s Mountain in Glen Gardner, NJ. The farm's 160 acres of land overlooks the Appalachian Mountains and includes two ponds, an orchard, and multiple fields with various types of livestock.

Jay and Joan Gerish purchased what is now "Born to Run Farm" in 1978 and used the property as a family getaway home and a space to train their race horses. The Gerish’s 4 children and 7 grandchildren continue to maintain the property as their parents and grandparents had always wanted, with love and family values.

As the Gerish family has grown, so has the farm’s resume. In addition to being a special occasion event space, the farm is also an animal sanctuary. The 150 acres is now home to almost 30 cows, 2 alpaca, a dozen sheep, 2 donkeys, chickens and many other barnyard friends. None of our animals are sent to market, and all live full happy lives at Born to Run Farm.

Our family has enjoyed the farm for the past couple decades and now want others to experience its beauty and healing properties. When you visit Born to Run Farm please take a moment to look out onto the sublime mountain-top view that once captivated our parents and grandparents so much that they decided not to leave.
